About W.D.ROSS, R.A., P.C.

Born of African Origin in Guyana (former British Guiana) on the Northern Cost of South America, I started my education in the Construction Industry by attending a Teachers’ College, a Technical Institute and the University of Guyana to study Industrial Arts Education, then Architecture & Building Technology. After obtaining a BS Degree in Architecture from OHIO State University in Columbus, I enlisted in the United States Army and was later commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. After a short post military period working as a Junior Engineer in the Town of Henrietta (suburban Rochester), I worked at New York City Transit in different Departments, in various capacities and on various projects. During that period of time, I started my Construction Company, then later, the Architectural Firm to execute projects after signing a dual-employment agreement with New York City Transit. I am still employed as an Architect / New York State Code Compliance Officer at New York City Transit, but plan to retire from this Agency and work full-time on my Private Business. The deciding factor will be the frequency and quantity of projects that I will receive.
